Your choices

Cookie Policy

This policy explains how PC Prospect uses cookies and similar browser technologies, what they are used for and how you can control them.

Essential storage is used to remember your cookie choice. Optional technologies are only used when you have agreed to them.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites can place on your computer, phone or other device. They can help a website work, remember choices or understand how visitors use it.

Similar technologies, including local storage, scripts and tracking links, can perform related jobs. This policy uses the word “cookies” to cover these technologies where appropriate.

2. What PC Prospect currently stores

PC Prospect currently uses local storage in your browser to save the choice you make through our cookie notice. This prevents the notice from appearing every time you move between pages and lets the site respect your preferences.

Name Type Purpose How long it remains
PC_cookieConsent_v1 Essential local storage Records the cookie categories you accepted or rejected. Until you clear your browser storage or PC Prospect replaces the consent version.

This item is essential because it is used only to remember and apply your cookie choice. It does not contain your name, email address or payment information.

3. Cookie categories

Our cookie settings show the following categories. Apart from essential storage, a category is switched off unless you choose to allow it.

  • Essential: needed to remember your cookie preferences and provide core website functions.
  • Analytics: may help us understand how visitors use PC Prospect and which pages are useful.
  • Advertising: may be used to measure advertising or help advertising partners provide relevant adverts.
  • Affiliate and partner: may help record referrals and work out whether a commission is due.
  • Personalisation: may remember optional choices and adjust your experience.

PC Prospect does not currently load analytics, advertising, affiliate or personalisation services through these optional categories. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent before using non-essential technologies.

4. Affiliate links

Some links on PC Prospect are affiliate links. They may include a tracking reference so a retailer or affiliate network can tell that you reached its website through PC Prospect. If you later make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

When you follow an affiliate link, you may first pass through an affiliate network before reaching the retailer. The network or retailer may then use its own cookies or similar technologies. Those technologies are controlled by that third party and are covered by its own cookie and privacy information.

You can read more in our Affiliate Disclosure.

5. Your cookie choices

When the cookie notice appears, you can accept all optional categories, reject them or choose categories individually. Essential storage stays active so your decision can be remembered.

You can review or change your choice at any time using the button below. Changing your choice will apply to future use of optional technologies on PC Prospect.

6. Browser controls

Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and clear local storage. The steps vary by browser, so check its help or privacy settings for instructions.

If you clear the local storage used by PC Prospect, the cookie notice will appear again so you can make a new choice. Blocking essential storage may mean the site cannot remember your choice.

7. Third-party websites

PC Prospect links to retailers, affiliate networks and other websites. Once you leave our website, the other organisation is responsible for its own cookies and use of information. We recommend checking its cookie and privacy policies.

8. Privacy and personal information

Some cookie or tracking information may count as personal information. Our Privacy Policy explains more about the information we may collect, why we use it and your data protection rights.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website, the services we use or the law changes. We will publish the latest version here and change the date below. Where necessary, we will ask you to make a new cookie choice.

10. Contact us
